Product Description

'Tis the Season to learn!

Seasons are one of the four divisions of the year that mark changing weather and daylight hours.  Seasons are a result of earth's rotation around the sun, and the tilt of the earth relative to its orbit.   Each of the four seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall) exhibit environment changes and phyisical changes.

In the Weather and Seasons Activity students will:

  • Learn about the earth and its realation to the sun
  • Name the four seasons and when they occur
  • Describe typical environmental changes in each season
  • Discuss plant life and physical changes during the year
  • Compare how our activities and clothing change seasonally
  • Explain why the lengths of days are different throughout the year

The materials in the "Weather/Seasons" activity allows each student to investigate the different seasons and how the world changes around us.  The students will learn that leaves change throughout the year by adhering different leaf stickers on to their tree tagboard. Students will learn which clothes are worn and examples of activities for each season by completing student worksheets.  Each student receives their own tagboard, set of stickers and worksheets to learn about the seasons.

For the teacher, each Weather/Season Kit comes with a Teacher's Guide with background information and discussion tips.  The teacher leads the discussion on why we have seasons and how the environment changes throughout the year.
